So here are more pictures just to fill you needs. This was our second weekend here. We are in a bar, in the basement. This was before we went to the disco! From our left to our right... Javier, Marina, Laticia, and some girl. She is really nice I just don´t know her name.

Here is the Boteon... I don´t know how to spell it. It is really interesting. The girls gossip and the guys get into circles and sing drinking songs. They are really funny. This was the weekend I got sick. We had one last weekend too, but there were less people.
This is our tutorial. Here we "study" and do "homework" from Canada and Spanish class. Really, I think we try not to forget our English and refresh our memories of how to make sentences. Haha. These kids are cool. Oh!!! Names: Samantha, Cathrine, Zara, Kelsey, Elaina and Daniel.
This is Jorge and some girl. They were both really nice. They were at the Boteon last weekend. Jorge talked to me alot...it was funny because he was trying to speak alot of English. As you can see the people here like to be funny. It´s great because I am not much of a serious person.
This is a picture of Marina and her dad in the kitchen. They are making ... food for lunch. This was like my third day here, so I don´t know what the food is. So yea...cool. Tomorrow i will have a ton of more pictures because we are going on a field trip to downtown with our Spanish teacher. It should be fun. I must remember to take my camera. Promise to take tons of fotos...

Jammon Time

I hope you all enjoyed that last little story because I have another.

Here in Spain they eat meat alittle differently. Not too differently, but alittle. Anywho, there is this meat called "jammon". It is tastey...i would never eat it alone because it is really salty. It is a very everywhere meat here. Everyone eats it and every house hold has it, sort of thing. I had never actually seen it before it was prepared, until the day I went grocery shopping with Marina´s parents. We get to the meat section and I finally discover the secret of the jammon. It is simply thinly cut ham. But what I saw was not so yummy looking. Everywhere there were pig legs hanging upside down by string. No, not just the leg either, the hoof and half of the bum. And it was not a normal color. It was a yellowy brown color. I am pretty sure it has been salted to the nines too. So that was really scary. I now know to stay away from pig anything here.

I went shopping yesterday and got two belts!!

So we go to Valencia on Tuesday!! I am really excited.
Yesterday I went shopping with the other Canadians. One girl got her triagus pierced and the other got her toung and triagus pierced. It was pretty ... interesting.
Today is Wednesday and the fact that I can not go to young womens is hitting hard this week. HOWEVER!!!! There is a young womens group here (very small, they do not meet during the week.) and that is a very interesting class on sunday!! I like it.

I don´t have a lot to say today. I am really sorry if this was a downer entry, I am really having a good time. The ward here is really nice. I found a house that I can go to and practice piano!! That is really exciting. I figure I will go over soon.

Thank you soo much for the comments and read then and I laugh...or cry (in the case of Auntie Libby!! I am gonna miss you guys so much you don´t even understand!!). I changed my font, but if this one still isn´t working I will change it again.

Much missing on this end!! Love you all,
Aymie

En mi clase

Hola!!!

Vale...I have a short time to concive this message unto you! I am very excited for Valencia, I got a bathing suit a couple days ago. Marina´s mom was very set on finding me one. It was very funny. I did not mind waiting untill later on in the week or the next weekend, but no. She took me to look for one on saturday and sunday. The "obsesion" does not stop there. We did not just go to one store and look and say " awe too bad, lets go home and eat," (for I was starving). We went to like 3 different stores and it felt like we drove all over the city, but then we found a nice one for a resonable price. I am against buying 50 dollar bathing suits...however there was this one that was really cute and i really liked for 50 dollars. Luckily i stuck to my guns!!

Alright, now I have a story about a pig. There was a pig. This pig was murdered by his farmer. A tapa (bar) bought this pig and cooked it. When my family and I went to this tapa, they ordered some of this pig. After a few minutes the pig was put infront of us cut up nicely and warmed up hot. So everyone looked at me and said "quieres?" (do you want some?) and being the polite person I am, I tried it. (Marina´s Aunt and Uncle were there.) All eyes on me I quickly grabbed a piece and bit unknowingly into it. Being in a rush to please the people around me I had not taken time to notice that one side of my piece had the skin and hair still on it only attached by fat (or it was bone or something, i do not know, all i know is that it was very cruntchy and gross). I had also bitten right into fat. As i chewed the crunchy, fatty mess in my mouth I stared at the plate...the other pieces of meat on it had side with skin and fur on it. Coming to the relization of what I was eating I looked up, not wanting to stare and the meat infront of me, to see everyones eyes still on me. "Bueno," said I hoping to turn the attention else where. They all went about their conversation and drinking but i did not know how to discretly dispose of the pig gross in my mouth. I swollowed only to look at the reast of the meat it my hand. I quickly strugled to get the rest of my piece down before chugging the rest of my coke. The End.

How´d you like that? I miss my parents cooking so much, more then than ever before. It was a very good growing experiance.

Have a good day, watch what you eat.

Coming...the next time I am on a computer...My jammon story!!

Hey you!! glad to know you are enjoying this and learning something!! hope you have a great time in Valencia and don't get caught in the undertoe! love to read about the culture!! Love Sheri

At home...

Hola todos,
My trip so far... When I first got here Marina (my exchange partner) too me out with her friends. That was Saturday night. We went to this club called, Smile, I believe. It is pretty cool, I do not have any pictures of it though. Sunday was pretty relaxed, we just chilled at home.

Our flight from Frankfurt went to Madrid and we had to drive from Madrid to Valladolid, which is about two hours-ish. I got soom wicked pictures, as such:

The first day of school. Well that was interesting because everyone loves to stare at the new Canadians. Some of the looks we get a hilarious. Some people just stare while the others are pointing and yelling, "The Canadians, the Canadians!!"

This is Laura (with the glasses) and Marina. This was during the first week of school. Laura is really nice and she talks to me alot.

Everyone here is really nice. I have a hard time opening my locker up...it´s on the bottom. My first week at school was very interesting. We are put in certain classes with an exchange partner. I am in a class with Rodrigo (who came to Canada and styed with Daniel), Daniel and Cathrine. We Have classes like physics, math, arcitecture, gym, computers (which we actually have to do work in next week.), Spanish, English and a spare. Their school is enclosed kind of like a jail... haha, bu it is really clean and really beautiful.

The shopping here is pretty nice. I have not found anything I would die to have, but there are alot of nice clothes. There are alot of parties. We got to parties Friday and Saturday nights. They are pretty fun, I got to talk to and meet alot of people. Which is really good because all the people I talked to are going to Valencia. That´s right...we are going to the beach!! It is some sort of class trip and Marina and her whole class or whoever (even the really hot guys!!haha) are going to Valencia for four days. I am really excited, but I need to buy a bathing suit. Only one week left before we leave.

This is a picture of the Plaza Zorilla, I think. Anyway, it is near where we go shopping, a short walk from Marina´s school. It is really nice as you can see. Behind me (because I am taking the picture.) is the military acadamy. Everything here looks so antique. It is genuinly beautiful. I am really starting to like it here, although I do so very much miss everyone in Canada. I also miss when we eat. Here we eat at 7 am, 11 am, 3 pm and 10 pm. Whereas I am used to eating all the time and before 10. I am exausted by the time we eat dinner. They drink their water out of cool glass bottles, (except the dad has wine or beer with our meals) and sometimes we eat outside because it is really nice here.
There is a maid who comes and cleans the house while we are gone,so I do not have to make my bed here. However, my mom told me that I have to so...I do.
I have church on Sunday. Here the ward is very small and strugling. I have offered to play the piano for Relife Society. I finally found a piano where I can practice.
I believe that should suffice for now. Wishing you all good luck wherever you may be,
