Santandar

So Marina´s parents took Marina and I to Santandar on Sunday!! That was so much fun. First we went to go see the "summer house" for the kings. I think it is used as a university now, but i am not sure. There were animals...like penguins and walruses...so I don´t know what this place is. After walking all of the place, which was fun, we went to meet her dad. There was the best view from the restaurant we ate at. Marina and I had really good chicken sandwiches and then they had calimary which I am sure my mother would have swam the ocean to eat. Which is funny because squid live in the water. Anywho, it smelled really good. We went and got ice cream and ate those on this walking place with a really good look out. Later on we went to the beach and "tanned". Marina tanned... I laid there for 5 minutes and then went for a walk with Marina´s parents. The picture of the little cottage house is here because this is where I am going to live with my faithful husband and our 14 children. Not really, but it looks so sweet and cute it makes you want to have a billion kids and a donkey...no? Ya, here are my Santandar pictures. Enjoy and please excuse all spelling errors. I am going to go watch a movie now!! In Spanish.

Yay!! I really don´t know what to say about these pictures so...YAY!!

Look!! A dragon!! Haha got ya, it´s just a really pretty beach!

BAGUR! BAGUR! Bagur Bagur BAGUR!!

Hey guys!!
I just wanted to show you some things that go down at Bagur!! (Bagur is the clob we go to every weekend, everyone from the school goes there...it is fun!!)
This last week end there were dancers. They dances to 6 or 7 songs and it was really cool. I love their outfits and they all have a flower in their hair (I thought that that was really pretty.)

Here are some other fotos. These are my favorite girls to dance with, because they always dance. And they are funny too. And this is a picture of Daniel and I...it was a surprise for him, even though he took the picture.

CANADIANCES!!!

About a week ago (or more) and the Canadians who came on this trip went to this big meeting with a bunch of government people, news people, and their exchange students. It was quite fun. We went and sat in an all Spanish meeting. I understood bits and parts of what was being said. Afterwards we got to have lunch with everyone. There was tortilla patata (my favorite food here), mini bocadillos (like little sandwiches), beverages and afew other things. I found out that I am not the only mormon here. Dallin, who came with us, is mormon too. That was nice. I found out how the other Canadians were doing and what their school is like and things like that. Alot of things are the same...minus the fact that the other kids in Valladolid, going to the other school, skip classes and don´t get in trouble. We would get in big trouble if we skipped. They go to public school and we go to private. Also, the kids at their school don´t change for gym and don´t dress up for school. At our school everyone changes for gym. If you don´t dress up (mesning have nice clothes, and rather expensive stuff.)...well then you are a frikie. Girls wear high heels to our school. Alot of the kids atmy school have designer clothes...so we are guessing we got put in with the rich kids, which is ok with me. Alot of the English teachers have been asking us to talk to their classes. It is really fun because they are all shocked that in Canada you can eat and listen to music in class. They get suprised when we tell them that we can drive at 16 years of age, alone, and 14 with a parent. I am really startng to understand alot. I wish we could stay here just alittle bit longer. Spain is really nice.

We have Monday off school because of some sort of fiesta, no one has explained it to me yet. Teresa, Marina´s sister, is going to Liverpool for a week or two soon. She is really excited. The day I leave Spain is the day she comes back. Wow, only two more weeks here. It is sad, and I do not know if i want to leave, but at he same time I miss everyone in Canada. I certainly do not miss all the homework I am going to have to do when I get back, better work on that haha. All´s well here, and I hope you are all having fun there.
I´ll write again when possible (haha),

p.s. right now I am going to go watch some good Spanish television. It really helps you learn. Honest!!

Segovia

Hola todos!!

So I went to Segovia. I have a ton of fotos. I like cheese here. I love you all.
Now time for a blog!

My dad, Taylor, and Jamyl went on vacation. I hope they had fun!! I miss them!! And everyone else to!! Thanks for everything...ahora, look at my pictures and love them.
Here is the Cathedral. It is big and hugh and amazing. We did not go in side, however i got to look at the out side...and eat a pastry. This one was good too. It surprised me with magical creme on the inside.

Here is the Cathedral.

This is the amazing magic man who was really cool. He pulled half a deck of cards out of Teresa´s ear! (She is Marina´s sister.)

This is a band who was playing music out side acool building. There were a few people doing that.

And here are some sweet picture of the Aquaduct!! It is bigger then I thought.
Here is a statue thingy that was there while we waited for the rest of the group. I don´t really know anything about it other then it is Roman...

And here is us at lunch. The whole lunch was really good...We had croquetas, some meat, salad, and then, por su puesto, pastries. That was really yummy. I love the bakeries (Pastelerias) here. That´s all for now folks...

Vino y Calimocho

This is the boy...

This is the place...

This is the story...

Now we go to a different place before Bagur. It´s close to Bagur, they play the music chanel on T.V. and it is fun fun fun. So the other day... Thursday of last week ( so a week ago)... We went there and I met a new boy.
We are all hanging out and having fun. Out of the corner of my eye I see his glass of wine (on the table) in a risky area. Though I could have moved the cup, I do not. A few minutes later something happens and of course the cup I decided not to move gets knocked over. I see it all in slow motion. I could have even grabed the cup, yet I let in fall. The wine spilt all over me and I am still sitting there thinking, "¿Que pasa?" (What happend?). It was really weird. Then Marina said, "Let´s go to the bathroom." So i decided to sit in the wine a little longer. Finally I found my purse and got up. I was looking for it to make sure it was alright. There is nothing like wine on your passport. However, it was safe. So with all that told...here is a picture of the stain:

It is all bueno!! Marina scrubbed my shirt the next day, while I was with her parents, and it came right out. Now when ever I see that boy he says sorry. Pero, no pasa nada.

KK, now i will write another blog with more pictures.

Valladolid

So the Canadian Spanish class took a walk through Valladolid. I thought I would give you guys a peek, so here you are.

Here we have the Military Academy. The doors open during the day, and one or two men in uniform stand at the door. This is really close to my school, Lordes. It´s a private school, everyone studies like crazy.

This is a picture of the recycling bins that are all over the city. Chami, I posted this for you. They are huge. Here they also have special separated garbage cans for bottles, trash, and residue (for things that can be put into the soil, ex: banana peels.). The streets are really clean here, and so is the school.

This is a picture of the class infront of the market. It is a fruit and vegetable market, similar to the farmers market only these people are there every day. The fruit from here is GOOD!! Real, fresh and tastey.

Here is a lovely picture of us with the bomberos (firemen) of Valladolid. They were really nice. They told use about their calender and chatted it up with our teacher.
I would just like to point out that in this picture we were all in danger of getting hit by a car because we were on the road. It was pretty scare. People are seriously intence drivers here and they mean business when you stand on the road.

This is part of the University or Law. Marina´s brother studies here. It is a really old looking building, but it is cool. There is a legend of the lions, there are these lions just outside the building, that if you count them before you graduate, then you won´t graduate. I can´t remember how many there are, I didn´t count them. The teacher tricked Zara into counting them. It was funny, Zara was mad.

Origionally, Valladolid was the capital of Spain. When the King died and a new one came into power (sorry i don´t remember which ones) he moved the capital to Madrid. So this was the castle being built for that king who had made Valladolid the capital. It is unfinished because the capital was moved and the new King took the arcitect with him. Spain is full of old arcitecture like this. There are the most beautiful cathedrals, as well.

This is the theater. Nothing to fancy to say about it. I have not seen the inside. I would like to, but I probably won´t. Taking this picture, I am stading next to a kiosc. They are like mini-max´s.

This is a picture of us at a Chocolateria. This would be the place to come and get Chocolate con Churros. It is basically melted chocolate with fried dough. So good!! You dip the churros in the chocolate...well, we finished all our churros so we took Kelsey´s strawberries and dipped those into the chocolate. After you are done dipping, you drink the chocolate. It is called Spanish drinking chocolate for a reason I guess.

That was basically the day. We went to the tourist center and walked alot of streets. Thanks for reading, and thanks for the comments. By the way, I would like to give a shout out to my Aunty Libby...Happy Birthday, April 3rd, I do believe.
Thanks everyone,
Choa,
Aymie!!

Valencia

Hello Everyone,

I am sorry I didn´t write before, but I went to Valencia for four days with Marina´s school. So lets over view and fill in some blanks.

Mom...these are the houses in our neighborhood. It is the same through the whole place. It is pretty dull. Knowing you as I do, you would pay someone to build you an original home...RIGHT ON YA!! There are different looking -the-same houses in different neighborhoods...if that makes sence. So nothing major happend...and then we went to Valencia. That was really run. I did alot of great shopping. The bus ride is 8 hours, with bathroom breaks and food stops. I sat next to Catherine on our trip there:
Keeping in mind this is an 8 hour drive...
So on this drive we saw tons of wicked things out our window...Spain has alot of old castles and stuff. When you get into Valencia there are a ton of orange plantations. And the oranges here are so yummy...i think i am going to have an orange after this. So let me show you some pictures of that:
And after that is a picture of use at the rest stop where we had lunch.

While we were in Valencia we went to the Oceanology center and the Science center. It was alot of fun. I found everything really interesting, but i was the only one. Haha. Everyone was complaning about having to go to schoolish places. I kept my mouth shut, becuase I don´t want to lable myself as a nerd here. Haha. Hey look at this more pictures!! I took a ton while we were there.

I don´t know what i did but now all the writting is
underlined and i can not get it to go away, so we are stuck with it for now. Here is me, climbing the first rock wall I am seen for a month. Sadly you can only climb to the red line...that was not very high, but whateves. The important thing is that it is a rock wall and I climbed it.
So the pictures go Oceanology center (2) and then the Science center (next 2) I have tons more but i will have to show them to you when i get back. These are jars of air. They have words on them (lables) but in spanish so Cathrine and I did´t understand them.
We went to go see the harbour in Valencia. There was a Louis V. photo shoot taking place here is a picture. My camara would not zoom in anyfurther. Besides. I didn´t want Louis to sew me.
Oh...and here are all the boys whistling at the modle. It was very comical. And then here is a picture of me at the beach in Valencia. Our hotel was walking distance, that was sweet.

The beach was really nice our last day there. It had been raining the other 2 and a half days. On the last day i got to play beach vollyball with Daniel , another canadian, and some of the other Spanish kids.

This is a picture from the trip back home. I went and sat with Marina and her friends because Cathrine had to take a different bus. This is Aldolfo and Marina, I sat behind them. This is Javier Blanco playing guitar. I sat beside him on the ride back. We talked about instruments...he plays piano too!! And this last picture is of a really cool and pretty lake or river or something. It was really pretty but this was the best picture i could get. It was alot of fun. Thanks for all the comments everyone!! Love you all and miss you too, Aymie!
